Several people were wounded Thursday when a car slammed into a crowd watching the Queen’s Day parade in Netherlands.

Witnesses said the black Suzuki Swift appeared to be deliberately driving at high speed toward an open-top bus carrying Dutch Queen Beatrix and several members of the royal family in Apeldoorn. The car sped through the spectators, swerved across police railings and slammed into the foot of a stone monument.

Reports said the car was driving at a speed of at least 50miles per hour. It is not clear whether the driver was acting intentionally.

The royal bus was not hit, and no one in the Queen’s entourage was injured.

Dutch television said that at least 14 people were killed, but the police declined to confirm the report.
