Former baseball star Roberto Alomar was sued by his ex-girlfriend for allegedly having unprotected sex with her after he contracted AIDS.
The New York Daily News reports Alomar, 41, was sued by Ilya Dall, who told the newspaper she lived with the former MLB second baseman for three years and then watched as his health declined.
The 31-year-old Dall is suing Alomar for $15 million in damages. She claims that the 12-time All-Star knew he had full-blown AIDS and yet still insisted on having unprotected sex with him.
According to the Daily News, attempts to reach Dall were unsuccessful.
However, Charles Bach, Alomar’s lawyer, called the lawsuit frivolous. He said his client is “healthy and would like to keep his health status private. We’ll do our talking in court.”
Alomar, who played for the Orioles, Indians, Mets, Blue Jays, Padres and White Sox, is widely considered as one of the best second basemen in MLB history.
