“Slumdog Millionaire,” the awards season’s favorite, received the top prize at the 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, winning the award for best ensemble cast.
Meryl Streep of “Doubt” and Sean Penn of “Milk” took the lead actor honors. As for the supporting roles, Heath Ledger won the best supporting actor award for his role as the Joker in “The Dark Knight” while Kate Winslet was honored for her role as a former concentration camp guard who has a lusty affair with a teenager in “The Reader”.
