A small uninhabited island in the Adriatic has become an internet sensation.
Using Google Earth, thousands of lovers have logged on to catch a glimpse of Galesnjak—the heart-shaped island located off the coast of Croatia.
Just a short boat ride away from Zadar, many consider the remote islet as the ultimate romantic destination–perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Galesnjak, now known as Lovers’ Island is just 130,000 square yards. Croatia’s temperature is warmer than other European countries but it’s not pleasant enough for sunbathing or even swimming during this time of the year. Be sure to wrap up well if you’re visiting the place.
